Team 12: Clickable Prototype and Usability Script

PROTOTYPE INTRODUCTION:

Our prototype is designed for users to complete the two major functions of our product: Setting up a bot and connecting it to their social media accounts, and to return and edit the bot to include a new interest. We will ask users to complete these tasks by clicking through our prototyped buttons and webpages.

Introduction:

Hello,___! My name is ____, and I’ll be walking you through this session today.

Before we begin, I want to share some information with you, and make sure we’re on the same page before we begin this session. I’ll be reading the page to make sure I don’t miss anything!

Since we’re in this class together, you probably have a good idea of why you’re here, but just to go over it again briefly, we’re asking people to try using a website that we’re working on to see if it works as intended. 

First, we want to make it clear that we are testing the software – not you! You can’t do anything wrong here.

As you use the site, please try to think out loud – tell us what you see, what you’re trying to do, and what you’re thinking. All of this will be helpful for us. Don’t worry that you’re going to hurt our feelings or anything! Your honest reactions will be valuable as we try to improve this site.

If you have any questions as we go through this session, please ask! Depending on the task, I may not be able to answer, since we want to see how someone would use this site without someone next to them to help. But if you still have questions at the end, I will try to answer then! If you need to take a break, please let me know.

Before we begin, I also wanted to ask if we can record. The recording will only be seen and used by our team, and helps out so that we don’t have to take notes! Is this okay with you/

PRE-TASK

Before we look at the site, I’d like to ask a few questions:

1. Can you walk me through a typical day in your life?
2. How often are you on your phone during the day?
3. How much do you say you use social media day-to-day?

TASK 1

Great! Thanks for answering those questions. Let’s start looking at the page.

First, I’m going to ask you to look at this page. What do you think about it? What do you think you can do with it? Give me all your first impressions.

Thanks! Now, I’m going to ask you to try completing some specific tasks. First, we will be onboarding you, and asking you step-by-step to join the service.

First, from the landing page, create an account through facebook login.

Then, select your interests. For the purposes of this experiment, let’s say you are interested in going outside, studying, healthy snacks, and stopping scrolling!

Next, let’s add two to-dos.

Then, let’s have you enter in the following calendar manually:

• You don’t use a calendar (manual first)
  • Wake up around 8 most days
  • Sleep by 1am
  • Busy 9-12pm and 1-4pm most days

For our last step, have your bot follow the Instagram account, “TheBestIGHandle247B”.

Link your instagram, and head to the home page.

Thanks! Now, I’m going to ask you to pretend to be a returning user. We are assuming that you have created more bots since your initial one, and are now interested in editing one.

First, let’s have you log in.

Great! Let’s have you edit that Instagram bot’s interest section.

First, we want you to remove the “Stop Scrolling” Interest.

Okay! Next, let’s have you add a new interest, “Meditation”, and lower the frequency of related posts.

Next, let’s add a to-do for you to focus on this new interest!

Great! Then, let’s edit your calendar bed time from 11 to 10.

Finally, sync your Google Calendar to the bot.

After that, let’s just return to the Dashboard!
