Three Choices (Blog Post / Speaker Notes)

Our product/company is Tandem, an app that reminds people to connect with others, schedules and aligns meetings, and showcases when people are available/online.

The market that we are targeting is the combination of 1) college students, specifically those who want to network or be more interconnected with their peers, and 2) companies that are offering remote or flexible work. At a grand scale, the TAM is demonstrated as 18.99 Million College Students, 27.6 Million People working fully remotely, 81 million people working flexible (remote in some capacity.

Our tech stack that we are using is MERN because it facilitates cross-platform web and mobile app development. It’s also something the team is familiar with.

From our user interviews, we want to prioritize which scheduling features are implemented. We want to create a range of circle/groupings for contact features. We’re looking to make the product design warm and familiar by using bright and inviting colors. The design will also include simple fonts and clean, rounded buttons.

With regards to ethical challenges, we want to maintain data security and privacy, taking care to not misuse privileged information for financial gains. Additionally, we want to ensure fairness and accountability in algorithms deployed so that we can maintain accessibility and ease of use for all.
